Eric Rickstad has more than 15 years of experience as a professional writer and editor. He is the acclaimed author the novel Reap, a New York Times Notable Book published by Viking/Penguin, and of the novel Found, due May 2012 from Pugilist Press. He previously worked at Addison Wesley Publishing and at Perseus Books, where he helped edit and develop The Wealth of Cities, XXXX and other titles.

Eric has published many short stories and articles in literary and national consumer magazines. He holds an MFA from the University of Virginia, where he was both a Hoyns and a Corse Fellow on full scholarship; and he taught writing at The University of Virginia, Boston University, and Emerson College’s graduate MFA program.

Since 2002, Rickstad has written and edited professional copy for Orvis, a $350 million dollar company that is the oldest and most prestigious direct marketing company in the United States. He also helped develop and is managing editor of OrvisNews.com.

Rickstad created idea2book expressly to help fellow writers fulfill their dream of being published authors.
